Speech therapy has barely evolved in decades, despite affecting more than 100 million people worldwide, many of whom cannot access treatment due to high costs and limited coverage by public health systems.

In Spain, one of the languages most associated with stuttering, thousands of people are left without professional support, reinforcing stigma and limiting daily communication. 

SOLUTION

Together with Samsung, Cheil Spain created Impulse, a free AI-powered app for Galaxy Watch and Android devices that brings rhythm-based speech therapy out of the clinic and into everyday life.

Using Natural Language Processing, the app translates speech into subconscious rhythmic vibrations on the wrist, synchronizing brain and speech in real time. Through voice assistance, rhythm and tone exercises, and an AI speech coach, Impulse democratizes speech therapy, making effective treatment accessible, discreet and stigma-free. 

RESULTS



After more than six months of testing across Spain, Portugal, USA, Ghana and UAE, Impulse received outstanding feedback from patients, therapists and physicians, achieving a 4.5/5 rating and earning endorsements from the Spanish Society of Neurology and the Portuguese Society of Speech Therapy.

Launched as a free app in the Iberian market, it generated strong media coverage and community support, positioning Impulse as a high-impact, accessible innovation in speech therapy and a key pillar of Samsung's Technology with Purpose initiative.
