Second quarter 2005 financial results

Billings from Cheil's overseas offices up by 12.2% total billings down 0.5% Seoul, July 21, 2005 : Cheil Communications, one of the world's top 20 global advertising and marketing communications agencies, has announced its financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total billings for the quarter were 422.0 billion Korean won. Net profit ped to 12.9 billion KRW, due in large part to ongoing investments in international offices and staff. As a result, billings from Cheil's overseas subsidiaries continued their strong growth, climbing to 81.3 billion KRW, an increase of 12.2% over 2Q04. In Korea, Cheil acquired new domestic clients including The Face Shop, Baskin-Robbins, and K2, the outdoor apparel brand. Cheil was also chosen by the Korean host organization for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation to produce all cultural events for the conference, which will be held later this year in Busan. During the quarter, the company launched several new advertising campaigns for existing clients, including Korea Telecom and Samsung Anycall, featuring DMB service.
