CJ Entertainment, Glaxo Smith Kline, Shinil Construction Added to Client List
Seoul, August 1, 2006 : Cheil Communications, one of the world's top 20 advertising agencies, announced today it has acquired new accounts totaling 29 billion won, including major new clients in the entertainment, construction and pharmaceuticals industries.
Cheil said it has picked up CJ Entertainment, Glaxo Smith Kline and Shinil Construction, all following competitive pitches.
CJ Entertainment, South Korea's leading entertainment company, appointed Cheil to handle its marketing and advertising, including producing television trailers for movie releases. Cheil will also execute media buying for the account.
Jong-wook An, a senior Cheil account executive who will be working on the account, said: 'We are very excited to have the opportunity to work with CJ Entertainment. CJ Entertainment is a growing brand and was looking for an agency that could give them the full package of intelligent marketing, sharp creatives and effective media buying. Cheil offers a superior package in terms of integrated marketing communications.'
Glaxo Smith Kline, one of the world's leading pharmaceuticals companies, appointed Cheil to its domestic advertising brief. Cheil is tasked with developing advertising across all four traditional media to build Glaxo Smith Kline's brand as a leader in Korea's growing vaccine market. The account was previously held by McCann Erickson.
Shinil Construction, a local apartment construction firm, also handed Cheil it's advertising brief, which will include television and radio commercials. Shinil favored Cheil's consumer-centered advertising strategy focused on raising brand awareness.
