Nack-Hoi Kim appointed CEO President of Cheil Communications. Former AE Brings 30 Years of Marketing Industry Experience to Top Role Seoul, January 22, 2007 : Cheil Communications Inc., one of the world's top 20 advertising and marketing communications agencies, has announced the appointment of Nack-Hoi Kim as its new CEO President. Mr. Kim, 56, replaces Dong-Man Bai, who had served as CEO President of Cheil since 2001. Mr. Bai will take up the position of President of the Samsung Social Contribution committee. Mr. Kim, who was previously Executive Vice President for Client Services, brings with him more than 30 years of advertising industry experience. He became director of Cheil's Planning Team in 1989 before working in a series of senior AE posts. He has won numerous awards including a Clio in 1985 and a Civil Merit Award from the South Korean government for his contribution to the advertising industry in 2001. Mr. Kim has held a number of other important posts in the advertising industry. He is currently serving as Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Ad Asia 2007 forum, which will be held on South Korea's Jeju Island from Oct. 21 to 24. He has served as an expert advisor to the Ministry of Government Affairs and Home Affairs and the Korea-Japan 2002 FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee. Mr. Kim was also an adjunct professor at Hongik University's Graduate School of Advertising and Public Relations from 2000 through 2001. Joining Cheil Communications in 1976 after graduating from Sogang University in Seoul with a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Mr. Kim also holds a Master's degree from Hanyang University's Graduate School of Journalism. He completed the Senior Executive Program at Yonsei University's Graduate School of Journalism and Mass Communication in 1999. Mr. Kim wrote and published 'Japan, Advertising Kingdom' in 1992, and has co-translated several other books in the Korean language including 'Brand Marketing Made Easy' and 'Word of Mouth Marketing.'
