Cheil Worldwide Appoints Bruce Haines, Former CEO of Leo Burnett London - Cheil recruits Haines as President Global Chief Operating Officer - - Haines to be responsible for global advertising and creative, strengthening global business capabilities and integration among global networks - - 35-year veteran in the advertising industry who has worked for YR and AMV/BBDO May 13, 2008 Seoul, Korea Cheil Worldwide has officially welcomed Bruce Haines, former Group CEO of Leo Burnett London, to strengthen its global business capabilities. Bruce Haines, who started his career as an AE in 1973, has worked for many globally recognized ad agencies including Young Rubicam and AMV/BBDO. In 2002, he was appointed CEO of Leo Burnett London and later a member of the agency's Global Management Board. He was responsible for the successful merger of Leo Burnett London with D'Arcy and the integration of ARC, the BTL and digital subsidiary. Haines is a well known and respected global advertising professional who has worked with many outstanding and important clients such as PG, Harrods, Porsche, Hennessy, Yellow Pages, Adidas, Revlon, Saab, Hyundai, Barclays Bank and McDonalds. Throughout his career he has been associated with many award winning campaigns both in UK and international advertising festivals. He has served as president of the UK's communications industry trade association, the IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) and is currently a Fellow of the Marketing Society and President of NABS (National Advertising Benevolent Society), a charitable organization serving the advertisement industry. Cheil Worldwide has continuously expanded its global business foundation under the management goal to become a top ten marketing communication group and is operating 35 networks in 28 countries as of April 2008. The company has recruited many foreign global experts such as World Wide Creative Director, Joe McDonagh, to develop into a global ad agency, and as part of such efforts, recently hired Bruce Haines as president and Global COO (Chief Operating Officer). Haines will be responsible for the global advertising and creative, strengthening core competitiveness of Cheil Worldwide by building a Global Center of Excellence which oversees global communication strategy, creatives and conducting projects for enhancing integration among networks to serve clients effectively and efficiently.
