Cheil Worldwide is awarded its first GOLD prize at the international advertising award show, 2008 ONE SHOW - Outdoor (Single) category it is also the first time for a Korean agency to win a gold at ONE SHOW
June, 2008: Seoul, Korea - Cheil Worldwide's CEO, Mr. Nack-hoi Kim is pleased to announce that Cheil Worldwide has been awarded its first gold award at the international advertising award show, 2008 ONE SHOW. The gold award in the outdoor (single) category was awarded to Cheil Worldwide for an innovative campaign produced for Samsung Tesco Home Plus. Completed in 2007, this campaign is located at one of Seoul's busiest and largest subways stations (Jamsil) and showcases wholesale products for the everyday consumer in vibrant and colorful showcases. Consumers are drawn to a range of products which are placed on free standing columns in the subway station. Since it's opening, the showcase of products has attracted a constant wave of consumers and the retail sales figures have achieved 550% sales through.
Led by Lee Yoo-shin, Creative Director at Cheil Worldwide, the inspiration behind the outdoor advertising campaign for HOME PLUS was to enter the minds of today's consumer based on modern lifestyle trends and to offer a more personalized and gratifying, and most importantly fun, wholesale shopping experience for the consumer - creating a link between the innovative method of retail selling with the HOME PLUS brand.
Although quite simple in terms of its design and construction, the campaign is a creative and novel exercise in branding and consumer marketing. To be awarded a gold award at 2008 ONE SHOW for this category highlights the effectiveness of the campaign.
Established in 1975, The ONE SHOW is the premiere international advertising award show and has set standards within the industry for creative excellence with categories including print, television, radio, outdoor, innovative media and marketing, and integrated marketing. Each year, a wide variety of work - from multi-national advertising giants to regional shops is judged by an international jury of award winning art directors, copywriters and creative directors. ONE SHOW is on par with the CLIO, and DAD Awards.
There were a total of 23,825 campaigns from 60 different countries which were submitted at this year's ONE SHOW.
